When should newborn photos be taken?

Typically newborn photos are done around 7-10 days old. If you want those super early, snuggly sleepy newborn photos then the earlier the better. If you don't mind if baby is awake during your session, then it's ok if they are a little older. I would stick to under 2 months, but it's never too late!

Should parents be in newborn photos?

Yes, please! Of course, it's up to you. But I don't think you'll regret getting in those photos with your sweet baby. If you're feeling hesitant because you're not quite feeling yourself after giving birth, I get it! I will do my best to take flattering photos you will cherish. For my style of newborn photography I use mom and dad a lot to show off your sweet bundle.

What should I wear for newborn photos? What should Dad wear?
Stick with comfortable clothes in neutral or muted colors. This session is for baby to shine, so we don't want anything distracting the eye. Mom, you may prefer a soft flowy dress. Most dads are comfortable in jeans or other pants and a nice t-shirt or henley. You'll get personalized styling help with your session so no need to stress!

How do I get my baby to cooperate during the photoshoot?

Your baby is in charge here! We have time to make sure they are content. If that means we need to take frequent breaks, that's totally fine. Just make sure as best you can that they have a full belly and clean diaper. Since you'll be holding baby for most of the photos they're usually pretty content.

How long does a newborn photoshoot last?
Your session will take up to 90 minutes. This may sound like a long time, but trust me- we'll need it! Newborn sessions are all about patience. Don't worry about needing to take a break here and there.

When will I get my edited photos?

You'll get your full gallery 2 weeks after your session and you'll be able to choose which ones you want to keep. 5 photos are included in the base package but you will have the chance to purchase more if you'd like.

What is the best way to display newborn photos?
I always recommend getting pictures on display! These pictures are meant to be seen, not just kept on your computer. Maybe a larger photo for the nursery wall and smaller ones for an end table in the living room or your dresser. An album is also a great way to showcase all the photos from your session. These are also great for grandparents! With certain packages you'll get a discount and/or print credit to use towards any gallery purchase so we can create whatever you want.
