This session felt extra special.
As a maternity photographer in Colorado Springs, I get to witness a lot of beautiful moments – but this was one of those nights where the light just did exactly what you hope it will do – and I was photographing the sweetest couple who were about to become parents for the very first time.
We met at Palmer Park at sunset (my favorite spot, always), and right away I could just feel the love between these two. They were warm and kind and completely wrapped up in each other in the most beautiful way. There’s something so tender about this stage – just the two of you, holding all this hope and excitement for what’s to come. It’s quiet and big at the same time.

She wore one of the white dresses from my client closet, and oh my goodness – it caught the light perfectly. She was almost 34 weeks along, and just absolutely glowing. And the way he looked at her… I mean. I was melting behind the camera.

One of my favorite things about being a maternity photographer in Colorado Springs is getting to witness moments like this – those in-between laughs, the little forehead kisses, the way they held hands while walking along the trail. It was calm and lighthearted all at once. And the sunset gave us this soft, golden haze that made everything feel even more magical.

We kept things relaxed, moved around the park a bit, and just let the evening unfold naturally. They were up for anything – laughing, snuggling, soaking it all in. And I honestly can’t wait to see them again… I get to photograph their newborn session today, and that just makes this whole thing even sweeter.

These are the kinds of sessions that stay with me. The kind that remind me why I love what I do.
